My name is Micky Hoogendijk (to pronounce in English: Hoogendyke) and I was born and raised in the Netherlands.
I have lived all over the world, Belgium, Japan, Canary Islands, Los Angeles and Amsterdam. Raised by artistic people, my life always revolved around the arts, in whatever way. I am a free spirit that doesn't conform to the rules of the world.
In 1990 I starred in a Dutch TV-series called Good Times, Bad Times. This launched my career and since then I starred in other Dutch TV-series and several international movies (Raising Helen, Blindspot). In 2008 I won the Best Actress in a Feature Film award at the New York Independent Video & Film Festival for my leading role in Blindspot.
In the meantime I have worked as the creative advisor for Supperclub (http://www.supperclub.com) and started my own company MHP, which focuses on creative events. (http://www.mickyhoogendijk.com)
This year I moved to San Francisco with my fiancé Adam Curry. And started writing this blog about a European living in the US encountering all kinds of remarkable, strange, irritating, unexpected, funny, exciting and lovable things.
OR MAYBE I STARTED THIS WEBLOG BECAUSE I DON'T WANT TO GO TO THERAPY!
Let’s see where it takes us.
